Policy and Advocacy
The Kinaway 2010-2011 Strategic Plan establishes an ambitious agenda over a three year period to lead Kinaway into a promising future. The Kinaway Strategic plan will inform and provide guidance to all key decisions made by the nominated Interim Board. Importantly, the plan will guide the implementation of the Chamber as a sustainable and viable peak representative of Aboriginal Businesses and Entrepreneurs in Victoria.After listening to Aboriginal people, a clear message from them is there needs to be more INVESTMENT IN ABORIGINAL BUSINESS GROWTH.

Business Skills Workshop - Investing in Aboriginal Business Growth

Kinaway and PwC partnering to advance Aboriginal businesses
Kinaway – Victoria’s Aboriginal Chamber of Commerce – is partnering with PwC to allow Aboriginal businesses access to some of the best business minds in the nation. Kinaway will mark the end of its inaugural year of advocacy for Aboriginal businesses by involving PwC to give its members access to expertise targeted at strengthening and growing their businesses sustainably.

$2.1 million to establish new Victorian Aboriginal Business Advisors program
Aboriginal businesses owners and operators across Victoria will benefit from a Victorian Coalition Government agreement worth $2.1 million, to establish the Victorian Aboriginal Business Advisors program. Minister for Innovation Services and Small Business Louise Asher said the Aboriginal Business Advisors program will support Indigenous economic development and provide Indigenous businesses with the opportunity to strengthen existing management skills and forge new networks to improve business productivity.- Kinaway 2

Kinaway launches policy agenda for the year ahead
Kinaway – Victoria’s Aboriginal Chamber of Commerce – is marking its first anniversary and celebrating NAIDOC Week by launching the policy and advocacy agenda it will pursue over the next 12 months. Kinaway welcomes Ministerial line-up
Kinaway, the Victorian Aboriginal Chamber of Commerce, strongly applauds the Gillard Government on the creation of the Indigenous Employment and Economic Development portfolio. Kinaway General Manager Simon Tengende says the creation of such a portfolio will see a dedicated effort from the Federal Government to the continuing empowerment of the indigenous community.
