AON Partners with Kinaway

Aon is in the business of better decisions.  Our vision is to be universally recognised as the preeminent global firm focused on risk and people.

Our mission is to empower economic and human possibility for clients, colleagues, and communities around the world. We are committed as one firm to our purpose, united through trust as one inclusive, diverse team and passionate about making our colleagues and our clients successful.

Aon has engaged with the indigenous sector by:

  • Aon currently has an Innovate RAP, active from July 2021 to June 2023.

  • Worked with the Aon Charity Foundation to provide funding to the Black Dog Institute, where this funding will be contributed to mental health awareness in the Torres Strait Islands communities.

  • Offset all carbon emissions from Aon’s annual Growth & Leadership Conference by partnering with the Aboriginal Carbon Foundation to purchase Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs). These credits have had many environmental, social and cultural benefits, which include supporting Elders to share traditional ecological knowledge with young people, protect the environment by Indigenous-led land management and support meaningful employment which aligns with the interest and values of Traditional Owners.

  • Supported the inaugural Indigenous Rodeo Championship in Mount Isa (August 2022) as an event partner. The event connected visitors with the local Kalkadoon people, their stories and culture, and was supported by a new volunteer program and accredited certificate program for Indigenous youth to learn new skills and have the opportunity to put them into practice.

  • Partnered with INCO to provide Field Experts (skilled colleague volunteers) to the First Nations Digitisation Fund. These Field Experts were engaged to provide expertise in their specialty areas to non-profits working toward closing the gap for First Nations Australians.

Aon was drawn to Kinaway due to their engagement with their members and their mentoring and development programs that goes beyond simply holding events. We want to support them in their mission and help their member businesses succeed.

Our vision is to leverage our knowledge and expertise across risk, retirement and health together with the passion of our colleagues to achieve equality and equity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of Australia. We are committed to preserving their cultural heritage and will work harmoniously with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients, communities, businesses and youth to deliver education, employment and procurement opportunities to realise this vision.

Kinaway member businesses will gain access to Aon’s suite of services, and we’ve also committed to providing educational content for distribution to members.

For Aon it’s not what we hope to derive from our partnership with Kinaway, it is about how Aon can support Kinaway’s mission in the areas we have strengths. At Aon we value and care deeply about Kinaway’s contribution to their members and their aims in the wider Victorian community.
