DXC Technology partners with Kinaway

DXC Technology’s core motivation for partnering with Kinaway is to develop strong and mutually beneficial relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders and organisations by leveraging Kinaway’s relationships and capabilities.

As a corporate partner of Kinaway, DXC will be able to expand its scope for procurement opportunities by obtaining access to Victorian Indigenous businesses to achieve targets for direct and indirect Indigenous spend. This partnership supports facilitating introductions and managing relationships with Indigenous businesses in a culturally sensitive manner to create mutually beneficial arrangements.

DXC Technology harnesses innovation to help planes fly, markets function, and businesses move at the speed of digital commerce. Sitting at number 152 in the Fortune 500 for 2021, DXC brings 40 years of innovation to the market and a 200 strong partner ecosystem, and look forward to bringing First Nations business into these growth opportunities.

Through access to DXC’s existing partnerships, initiatives and resources, Kinaway member businesses will be well-placed to interact with the market and upskill their employees. DXC are committed to incorporating Indigenous businesses into their supply chain, replacing existing suppliers with Indigenous organisations where possible and appropriate. For Kinaway member businesses, engagement with DXC means access to a leading IT business supporting over 3,500 customers throughout the Asia Pacific region, with FY21 revenue at $2.8 billion.

As a non-Indigenous business, DXC values the expertise of Kinaway in curating the market and assessing the bona-fides of businesses they can engage with to support customers and internal needs. Moreover, as DXC continues and seeks to expand its contracts with Victorian Government agencies, it is critical for them to align with and exceed the expectations for Indigenous business procurement, as outlined by the government’s Social Procurement Framework.

DXC’s 2020 Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) operates on the principles of co-design, respect and shared learnings, and is implemented by their RAP working group and First Nations Program. It is structured according to four main themes of business partnerships, education and career pathways, community engagement and culture, diversity and inclusion.

As part of DXC’s RAP deliverables, DXC is implementing the Community Technology Enablement Program, in coalition and consulting with partners, customers and local community groups. The initiative aims to support greater connection to family, remove financial barriers to technological access, and facilitate opportunities to learn and work, supporting communities through COVID restrictions and enabling remote and ‘On Country’ participation in the Australian economy. The scheme primarily achieves this via laptop donations, with the current number of donated devices to-date sitting at over 300.

By partnering with Indigenous businesses, DXC aims to facilitate economic growth, support financial independence, and achieve self-determination and proportional representation in all areas of society and the economy.
