GHD partners with Kinaway

GHD is a global professional services company that leads through engineering and architectural skills and experience. Our forward-looking, innovative approaches connect and sustain communities around the world. Delivering extraordinary social and economic outcomes, we are focused on building lasting relationships with our partners and clients.

Established in 1928, we remain wholly owned by our people. We are 10,000+ diverse and skilled individuals connected by over 200 offices, across five continents – Asia, Australia, Europe, North and South America, and the Pacific region.

GHD become a partner with Kinaway to support and to build relationships with partner organisations with a view to working together/engaging their services.

We hope to leverage our partnership to build working relationships with Kinaway member organisations where our service offerings align. We are also looking forward to our RAP wins workshop to explore ways that we can advance and make progress with our RAP commitments (workshop to be rescheduled).

About the artist: Tyrown Waigana is a young Noongar man from southwest Western Australia and is connected to the Torres Strait Islands. He joined GHD in 2016 as part of the CareerTrackers intern program and since then has gone on to establish his own design business, Crawlin Crocodile.

As an artist he specialises in painting, illustration, sculpture, animation and graphic design. Tyrown was the winner of the 2020 prestigious NAIDOC poster competition. Tyrown designed the artwork for our first Reflect RAP, and our previous Innovate RAP. We are fortunate to have such a talented and unique artist assist us in the graphical representation of our reconciliation journey since 2017.

The image above is the Hero image. The hero graphic is a contemporary styled Australian Indigenous artwork which references traditional themes of growth and connection through the symbolic use of a stylised tree. Using line work, Tyrown has created a high impact piece which utilises negative space and an etching technique to produce a gradient on the trunk of the tree. The symbols for GHD’s five sectors water, energy and resources, environment, property and buildings, and transportation are integrated through the tree design to represent the company and seal the artwork. The left side is open to heighten the visual engagement by making use of asymmetry and show that the network has impacts in the wider community
